Natural oils for Skincare? My new Favorites…

If you know me very well, you ll know I’m an oil junky lol.. Yes I love natural oils with my favorites being Coconut and Avocado Oils, I live for them, and I’m always on the lookout for the next favorite one. The things they do for my skin is amazing. Im still kind of shocked at the surprise I see on faces when people ask what I use on my skin and I say  natural oils … Black women in particular should use oils, I know our general complains are we are too oily,we have combination skin, we have adult acne etc, but trust me, if you have been reading this blog for a while now, you must have discovered some benefits of some of the oils I have talked about. The skin needs oil to balances itself. When the skin feels tight and dry, it produces more oils to make up for it, thus we stay oily even when doing everything to combat it. The secret, use oils to balance out the skin.. Depending on your skin type,what  works for me might not work for you and vice versa,so the trick is doing some research and actually trying it out. Recently I added two new oils to my collection, Rosehip Seed oil  and Grapeseed oil. Im loving them so far,my skin feels and looks amazing already. I use these for oil cleansing treatments  and just basically applying them as moisturizers at night before I go to bed…I don’t really care for cosmetic grade oils, I feel they are over priced and sometimes lost their natural properties,so I ll advice buying the cool pressed edible grade oils to use on skin and hair… You know the saying if its good enough for your tummy, then its best for your skin. Well here are the skin benefits of RoseHip Seed and Grapeseed Oil.

Skin Benefits of RoseHip Seed Oil;

  • Treats and reduces the appearance of fine lines
  • Hydrates Dry skin
  • Evens out skin tone. Perfect for people like myself who suffer from hyper pigmentation, minor discoloration and age spots.
  • Reduces the appearance of scars and stretch marks.
  • Great for eczema prone skin
  • Helps correct sun damage.

Skin Benefits of Grape seed Oil;

  • Prevents Acne
  • Grapeseed oil is known for its anti aging properties
  • Restoration of the collagen.(tightens and firms the skin)
  • Brightens the skin
  • Helps fade scars and discoloration
  • Minimizes under eye dark circles

On how I use these oil on my skin, well its simple, I moisturize my skin right out the shower before I use a towel, that way my skin soaks the oil up and I follow up with my regular moisturizer. For my face, I do the same, I few drops is all you need. And I also mix the oils for oil cleansing treatments and to take off my makeup. That way my skin stays hydrated and clear. Any of you ladies hooked on oils like I do? I think they are cheaper and natural, so good for my wallet and less chemicals on my skin.. Let me know what you think… Enjoy the rest of your week.
