I often hear generosity is the key to success and generous people never lack. Personally, if I could tout my own horn a little, I ll like to believe Im a generous person. I mean, I wont see a person in need and I have a means to help and I don’t help out. Sometimes I have a tendency to go overboard by inconveniencing myself to help others, yeah I can be that weird. To balance it out, I have had my fair share of people going all out for me, helped me when I needed it. In all wether the help was coming from me or coming to me, the most common phrase after a Thank You was Pay it Forward.
While I often heard the Words Pay it Forward, I never truly understood the effects it had on the receiver until it happened to me. Last weekend, I had an experience like never before. While at a beauty supply the other day, my credit card was declined because it belonged to my husband and I didn’t have his ID card with me. As I stepped aside looking for cash in my wallet to complete my transaction, the next thing I heard was she took care of your bill mam. I looked up in disbelieve, offering the cash from my wallet to the old lady who stood in front of me, but she declined and said young woman, I did this so you can pay it forward. For a few minutes, I kept offering her the $25 dollar bill in my hands and said she didn’t have to, but she insisted it was ok. It dawn on my how I must have made the people whom I showed kindness to along the way felt. Even though I wasn’t having a bad day, this single act of kindness made me feel even better. I felt like humanity hugged me, its surprising what a little act of kindness can you. Moral of the story is , Kindness is a human virtue and paying it forwards is a blessing. I don’t know who the old lady was, but the feeling she left me is a blessing and I can’t wait to share it with the world. The next time I ask someone to pay it forward, it will be because I truly understand how it feels.. Happy New week guys.

November 4, 2016 at 1:49 amThat was amazing dear, I believe in the saying that “Givers never lack”. It pays to be generous to people around us. We make a living by what we get, but we make a LIFE by what we give. Nice sharing.
